About Dina
Dina has been part of the fitness and wellness industry for more than 35 years, helping people develop a healthier, more connected relationship with their bodies and movement.
A second-generation, classically trained and Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, Dina is also a certified yoga teacher and has extensive education and credentials across a variety of fitness and wellness disciplines.
Dina began teaching and developing her Pilates programs in the mid to late 1990s. In 2002 she started the Mat Pilates Program at Fitness Incentive in Babylon, NY and started The Reformer Studio in 2005. Over the next two decades, she helped build and manage their Pilates and yoga programs while also teaching group classes working closely with private clients, both in person and virtually, and educating future Pilates teachers.
Her approach to teaching has evolved through decades of observation, hands-on experience, continuing education, and working with hundreds of different bodies. While deeply respectful of the original Pilates work, Dina believes that great teaching requires more than knowing exercises. It requires understanding movement, seeing the individual, asking questions, adapting thoughtfully, and continuing to learn.
Today, Dina is the owner of Balanced by Dina, Inc. and is the creator of The Dina Method™ Teacher Training where she brings together authentic Pilates, modern movement knowledge, observation, mentorship, and more than three decades of experience to educate the next generation of thoughtful, confident Pilates teachers.
Beyond Pilates
For more than three decades, Dina has also embraced a vegan lifestyle and a holistic approach to everyday living. Her interest in wellness extends beyond movement into plant-based cooking and handmade household and personal-care products created with thoughtfully selected ingredients.
That passion became Dina’s Escentials™, where she shares another side of the balanced lifestyle she has cultivated throughout her career.
“We believe authentic Pilates deserves to be preserved through thoughtful education, compassionate mentorship, and a lifelong commitment to learning. Every movement has a purpose. Every person deserves to be seen. Every educator has the responsibility to carry the Method forward with intention and integrity.”
The Dina Method™
Philosophy & Foundational Education Standards
Honoring the Foundation. Inspiring the Future.
The Dina Method™ Educational Philosophy
Teaching is only one part of the educational equation. The true measure of great teaching is not how much information is presented, but how much understanding is created.
Our goal is not simply to teach Pilates.
Our goal is to develop instructors who think, observe, question, adapt, and inspire learning through movement.
We believe Pilates is an education—not simply a workout. Every cue, every correction, every observation, and every conversation should lead to one outcome: meaningful learning.
A Dina Method™ instructor does not simply teach exercises. They teach people.
They observe before they correct, they listen before they speak, and they recognize that every student learns differently.
Rather than relying on memorized scripts, they use knowledge, observation, and critical thinking to guide each individual toward safe, purposeful, and authentic movement.
We believe that authentic Pilates provides the foundation for lifelong learning. Once those principles are understood, they can be applied with confidence, creativity, and integrity in any movement environment.
Observation leads to understanding.
Understanding leads to better teaching.
Better teaching creates meaningful learning.
